Emily Notman - A Special Place (Week 1 of 2)
In this workshop, you’ll create a unique textile piece inspired by a special place—perhaps a cherished memory, favourite landscape, wedding venue, or meaningful location.
Week 1 - Begin working from a photo or memory by painting and colouring your own fabrics to reflect the tones and mood of your chosen scene. Plan your background and layout ready for week 2.
Week 2 - You'll then build your piece using a wide range of textural stitching and hand embroidery techniques, bringing your landscape or view to life with layers, texture, and personal expression.
This is a wonderful opportunity to translate your memories into fabric and thread, creating a beautiful and meaningful piece of textile art. You just need to bring your photo!
